Why do people forward crap mails?
Hi,
Forwarding mails is not a new thing. But i hate when ppl just forward junk mails in bulk. I feel like the inbox has been dirtied with a lot of garbage. It is so awkward to tell this person that he needs to stop it and that i don’t like them. Its not that i hate them altogether, a good mail conveying some funny or mind boggling idea is pleasing once in a while. But what if you don’t have enough time and there are people who send like 10 junk mails everyday? I think anyone will get pissed off! The better solution would be to create a separate email id for junk mails. And trust me, i have one. But still these forwards won’t stop coming to my mail id which i prefer for personnel mails. And so finally i need to tell these junk mailers that all the crap can be forwarded to the alternate email id. What a pity…and i don’t know how it feels when someone really straight forward like me tells u that. At this point of time i expect people to understand that it is causing some inconvenience and there is no offense meant. When i know the cons of junk mails, i myself don’t forward any mails to others thinking of their valuable time i would waste (and when there are already dozen to other ppl who are doing it)
Today, there happened this incident which made me feel guilty at the end of it. My friend forwarded me this mail saying that u will get a free Apple iPod by forwarding this mail to all the people in your contact list. Unable to resist temptation, i followed the suit. After taking all the emails from my contact list, i was asked to update my postal address where i would like to receive this free iPod. On the top of it, they also asked me to update my b’day increasing my hopes to get it as my b’day present. (Now, u will say ‘wow! wish i was there in ur friend’s list’) . And believe me, all this took around 15-20 mins. After all this moral boosting, the anti-climax played its part. To get it free and to finish off the process, i was i asked to purchase one of the a variety of articles each one of which costed in $’s and required to pay through the credit card. And this was the last step. Spend some #$&*%#@ dollars to get an iPod FREE! And suddenly i thought of all my friends who might fall for it and curse me as i was cursing my friend who was the scapegoat for someone else.
I feel bad for whatever happened and if u r by any chance someone who got it from me….i m sorry!
